What is a silver monster box worth?
A monster box is a mint's shipping box of 500 one-ounce silver bullion coins, packed in tubes. That's 500 troy ounces of silver, so its value follows the silver price.

| Coin | Box | Tubes |
|---|---|---|
| American Silver Eagle | U.S. Mint, green | 25 tubes of 20 |

| Silver Britannia | Royal Mint | 20 tubes of 25 |

Sealed, opened, and partial boxes
- Sealed: a box still strapped and sealed as it left the mint is the easiest to sell, because the buyer knows nothing has been swapped.
- Opened: worth the same silver, but expect each tube to be checked. Keep coins in their original tubes.
- Partial boxes and loose tubes: priced by the coin, the same way. A tube of 20 Silver Eagles holds 20 ozt; a tube of 25 Maple Leafs, 25 ozt.
- Single years: a sealed box of one year's coins is ordinary bullion; a few dates and special issues sell for more, and we'll tell you if yours is one.
