How to ship to us.
Recommended practices for sending us coins, bullion, and gold. These are the steps experienced sellers use.
Minimums. Our minimum is $1,000 per order, and smaller lots are considered case by case. Scrap gold needs at least 1/2 troy ounce of scrap material, and scrap sterling at least 1 kilo.
Ship by USPS Registered Mail
- Ship only after you've accepted our written estimate, to the address in your confirmation.
- Use USPS Registered Mail and declare the full value. It's the most secure way to ship precious metals: packages are signed for at every step, and insurance up to $50,000 is included in the fee.
- Take a quick photo of your items and the packed box for your records.
- Leave bars in their assay cards and coins in their slabs, capsules, or tubes. Put loose jewelry and scrap in small zip bags.
- Pack snugly in a small inner box so nothing moves or rattles, then place it in a plain, sturdy outer box. Padded envelopes can't be sent Registered.
- Keep the outside of the box plain and unbranded.
- Seal with water-activated paper tape. Registered Mail requires paper or cloth tape, not plastic.
- Put the packing slip from your confirmation email inside the box. It lists your request number and your rates. If you can't print, a handwritten note with your name, request number, and a list of what's inside works too. Your rates are already in your confirmation email.
- Keep your receipt and send us the tracking number.
