Cookies.
This page lists the cookies and browser storage used on osirismetals.com, the website of Osiris Precious Metals. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can recognize the browser on a later visit. Some of the items below use your browser's similar "session storage" or "local storage" instead.
Our own cookies and storage
| Name | Type | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| osiris_vid | Cookie | A random visitor ID, so our statistics can tell new visitors from returning ones. | About 13 months |
| osiris_ft | Cookie | What first brought you to our site: the referring website, or the campaign tags and ad-click ID in the link you followed. | About 13 months |
| osiris_ref | Cookie | The referral code in a referral link you opened, so it's filled in on the request form and the person who referred you is credited. | 90 days |
| osiris-ref | Session storage | The same referral code, for this tab only, when your browser asks us not to set cookies. | Until you close the tab |
| osiris-sid, osiris-src, osiris-ret | Session storage | A random ID for this visit, how this visit started, and whether you've been here before. | Until you close the tab |
| osiris-estimate | Session storage | Carries your own calculator estimate into the request form. | Until you close the tab |
| osiris-me | Local storage | After you send a request, your name, email, phone, state, website, payment method, and contact preference, so the form is filled in for you next time on this device. It's never sent anywhere until you send a form. "Not you?" on the form clears it. | Until you clear it |
| osiris-notrack | Local storage | Remembers that you've turned off statistics and advertising tags on this device. | Until you clear it |
Advertising cookies
When we advertise on a platform, our site loads that platform's tag. It sets the platform's own cookies to measure which ads lead to visits and requests, and to show our ads to people likely to be interested. These platforms can recognize your browser on other websites too, under their own policies.
| Platform | Typical cookies | Its policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ads | _gcl_au, _gcl_aw | How Google uses cookies in advertising |
| Meta (Instagram and Facebook) | _fbp, _fbc | Meta cookies policy |
| _rdt_uuid | Reddit cookie notice |
The platforms may change their cookie names. Our fonts are served from our own site.
Your choices
- Turn tracking off on this site. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" signal, we don't set our cookies, record statistics, or load advertising tags. You can also open any page with
?notrack=1added to the address to turn them off on that device. - Block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. The site still works without them.
- Limit ad personalization in your Google, Meta, and Reddit account settings.
