Guide
How much is a gold bracelet worth?
A gold bracelet is worth the gold in it: weight times karat, at today's gold price. Solid bracelets can be heavy and valuable; hollow bangles often weigh much less than they look.

What gold bracelets are worth today, per gram
Gold is trading at $3,942 per troy ounce (the Kitco bid). We pay 94% of melt value:
| Karat | Stamped | We pay per gram |
|---|---|---|
| 10K | 10K, 417 | $49.68/g |
| 14K | 14K, 585 | $69.46/g |
| 18K | 18K, 750 | $89.36/g |
Scrap prices are per gram of metal after melting, not per gram of what you send. Stones are removed, and dirt, glue, springs, and anything else that isn't gold or silver burn off or separate out, so the weight paid is usually less than your scale shows.
A 14K bracelet weighing 15 grams, for example, comes to $1,041.93 today.
What decides a bracelet's value
- Hollow or solid: hollow bangles and some chain bracelets look substantial but weigh little, and dent easily. Weight sets the value.
- Clasps: box clasps and spring rings usually hold a small steel spring, which isn't gold.
- Charm bracelets: charms can be different karats, silver, or plated. Check the stamp on each charm.
- Tennis bracelets: the diamonds aren't paid as gold. If they're worth keeping, have them removed or ask us about the piece.
- ID bracelets: we can't accept pieces with personal engravings, so leave engraved ID bracelets out.
