Selling gold for cash: how you get paid.

You get the cash value of your gold, sent to an account in your name: by Zelle, ACH, wire, or PayPal, within 7–10 business days after your package arrives.

Updated November 3, 2026 · Prices as of November 3, 2026, 4:45 p.m. Pacific

How we pay

  • Zelle, ACH, or PayPal: no fee from us.
  • Wire transfer: a $25 fee, deducted from your payment.
  • Only to an account in your own name. For an estate or trust, that's the estate's or trust's account.

How fast

We pay within 7–10 business days after delivery. In a few states, the law requires us to hold scrap and jewelry for a set time before melting; your estimate will say if that applies to you.

What the amount is based on

Your written estimate fixes your rate as a percentage of the Kitco bid. Scrap is paid on its final weight and purity at the Kitco bid when melting and assay begin; coins and bullion at the Kitco bid when we verify your package. Gold is at $3,925 right now. Your payment confirmation shows every figure.

Why not cash in hand?

Paying into an account in your name keeps a clear record of every purchase, as federal anti-money-laundering rules for precious metals dealers require, and it means nobody has to carry cash. If you'd rather sell in person for cash the same day, a local shop will pay faster; see the best place to sell gold for how the options compare.
